Last week a bag designed by a famous handbag designer

made to replace plastic bags went on sale. The new bag has

been flying off the ****ves - it has the logo 'I am not a plastic

bag' on the front.

Everyone wants to be seen with the bag because they

want to show they care for the environment

and that they are interested in fashion!

Modbury, a small town in England is doing even more

to help care for the environment. All the shops in the

town say that from today they won't give people plastic bags

when they come to do their shopping.

The idea came from a local resident who was in Hawaii

and was shocked at the sight of green sea turtles choking

to death because of plastic bags.

When she returned to her town she persuaded all the s

hopkeepers to go plastic bag free. She says that she's

got a mission and she wants everyone to hear her message

and for other towns to be inspired by Modbury's example.
